RED RIBBON CLUB REPORT –
2013-14
The Red Ribbon Club of Maris stella college
organized an HIV/AIDS Awareness Programme on 31 st Nov 2013, in view to educate
the young girl to become aware of HIV related issues and how to save lives. Dr Babu Rao Principal of PB Siddhartha college
,Vijayawada enlighten students on Immune system, Antigen and Antibody
relationships. Many young people are HIV positive in India ,Andhra, and Krishna
district is highly alarming and encourage them how to protect oneself from it. RRC

and 111 year were attended.
2016-17
The
Red Ribbon Club of Maris Stella organised an awareness program on Voluntary Blood Donation on 24-09-2016
This
Program was arranged in view of to raise responsible citizens, educate them, to
save life of a person and helping those in need
“ A Decision to Donate Your Blood
can save a life”
Dr.T.V.S.N.Sastry,
Additional district medical and health officer was the chief guest. He
enlightened the students on voluntary blood donation that one should be ready
to donate blood under safe surgical methods when in need to save life. He also spoke
on HIV/AIDS, TV, Leprosy and Talasemia. He called the students with slogan “Be
Bold To Test HIV”, awareness should be transformed into action.
He
inspired the students by reaching the youth in the college/ Educational
Institutions to make them aware on HIV/AIDS and its related issues through RRC
Program and motivating them to contribute voluntary blood donation.

Sr. Rekha, Principal, Mrs. P. Nitya Jeeva Prada, RRC Coordinator, Dr. Sr.
Japamalai, HOD of Zoology Department, Members, Staff and 500 Students were
attended.

AIDS DAY
On
the eve of World AIDS Day(1 Dec 2016) , the maris stella college has organized HIV/AIDS programme on 30 th
Nov, 2016 in the audio visual room. The chief guest of the programme Dr.
Madan Mohan, chief medical officer, Red cross Blood bank spoke o HIV related
diseases and prevention.. He enlightened our students on the importance of CD4
cells in defence mechanism and also on Thalasemia ( major & minor).He
explained HIV1 and HIV2 tests.Youth are more prone to HIV between the age group of 14-24 years.Girls are being
urged to face these challenges.

Stella college conducted Red ribbon club activity on HIV/AIDS “Future is the
key, so stay Drug free” on 22.8.2017.Dr Rachel Chatterjii IAS Red cross chair
person ,AP,was the chief person. She enlightened students on functioning of
Youth red cross units and has explained statistics of HIV cases in AP and world.The guest of honour Dr. Illa
Ravi , General secretary , youth red cross society spoke on importance of blood
donation ,30% people are aware of blood donation. Dr Sridhar Dental surgeon of
Vijayawada enlighten students on root canal treatment.
